Dr. Ruto will be in Tabaka and Moticho wards, South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County according to area MP Sylvanus Osoro who doubles to be a close ally to Mr Ruto.

The visit has elicited mixed reactions among local leaders and residents.

"Ruto's numerous visits won't bare fruit come 2022. MP Osoro is seeking relevance in 2022 because he knows he won't be re-elected due to his closeness with DP Ruto," said ANC politician Thomas Nyangaresi.

Fred Ong'esa protested DP Ruto's visit saying none of his visits has benefited Gusii community.

"He had been making unnecessary numerous trips to Gusii region without the community benefiting. It is time the people of South Mugirango should boycott DP Ruto's rallies on Friday," said Ong'esa.

Zachary Omweri a trader at Daraja Mbili termed DP Ruto's Friday trip as 'meaningless' to Kisii people.

"He is bringing empty promises to the people of Kisii county. He must be ignored this time round," said Omweri.

Ruto's trip comes barely three weeks after he accompanied his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to commission various development projects at Kisii Teaching and referral hospital.
