Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa, has pledged to ensure that all land issues in her Constituency are addressed.
Jumwa said her office is working tirelessly to ensure Malindi residents get title deeds to avoid incidents where many have been unlawfully evicted and their ancestral lands taken by private developers.
Flanked by area ward representatives, Jumwa met residents of Kajajini and Kijiwetanga where she emphasised that title deeds are proof of ownership and enables productive land use.
Her sentiments comes few days after Coast leaders, led by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho pledged that Coast leaders will work in unison to ensure there is equitable distribution of resources.
They said they will also push for the implementation of key issues affecting the Coastal people, the main one being the implementation of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC), which highlights land injustices being witnessed in the Coastal region.
