Political activist Miguna Miguna has slammed politicians who meet with retired President Daniel Arap Moi.
Miguna's message seemed to be directed to ODM Deputy Party Leader, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who met Moi at his Kabarak home in Nakuru on Saturday.
"Meeting Daniel Arap Moi is not an expression of a progressive political ideology. It is an indication of political bankruptcy and represents and encapsulates everything wrong with Kenya: looting, land grabbing, repression, mediocrity and tribalism," said Miguna same day Joho alongside a team of Coast MPs visited Moi.
Accompanied by Moi's son, Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi, Joho held talks with Moi as he sought political blessings from the country's second president.
The Mombasa governor's visit in the region saw him attend various fundraisers in Samburu and Baringo counties, a region believed to be Deputy President William Ruto's backyard days after the DP pitched tent in the Coast.
However, according to Miguna, a former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate, anyone who meets with a thief is as well a thief.
"Anyone who meets with and conspires with a horrible thief, murderer and dictator like Moi is also a thief and dictator," he added in a tweet.
Miguna who made a series of tweets on Saturday August 26, further slammed politicians meeting and shaking hands with leaders who have a controversial past.
"Fellow Kenyans: Shaking hands with despots, tyrants, thieves, tribalists and murderers and/or collaborating with them is not a public policy statement nor is it a commitment to social justice, democracy, rule of law and constitutionalism. Stop being gullible," said Miguna, who is a self-proclaimed National Revolution Movement Kenya (NRMKe) leader.
"Africans have been shaking hands with each other since the beginning of time. So, yelling about "handshake" as if you just learnt of the word today makes you sound like a lost soul," he added.
