Opposition activist Miguna Miguna would be more useful to the Luo Nyanza region as compared to the region's current political chief and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Odinga, despite having a big national say and influence, has remained largely silent on most of the real issues troubling the region, including the ongoing border row between Kisumu and Nandi counties.

Known for his criticism of things he deems unacceptable, and his forceful mode of operation, Miguna would have by now restored sanity on the issue were he in a position to do so.

Coming from the Kano region, whose piece the Nandi county government seeks to take away, Miguna would be very instrumental in pushing for a quick solution of the issue.

Raila is also yet to intervene in the Migingo Island feud pitting Kenyan fishermen and Ugandan authorities, even failing to solve the situation during his prime ministerial tenure during the Grand Coalition government.

Again, the embattled former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant would have done his best, were he in Odinga's position, to reach out to President Uhuru Kenyatta, and seek for a lasting solution for the same.

Just like Odinga, his close allies who are equally vocal have as well failed to address the Migingo issue, as Ugandan police continue harassing the fishermen and taking away their equipment.

Odinga seems to be a soft leader who either cares less about his people or isn't aware of what is going on around him, and his constituents' shortcomings, calling for a substitution, with Miguna being the best to take over his boots in this case.
