After months of traversing Kisii and Nyamira Counties, Deputy President William Ruto has settled on a formidable team that will help him realise his vision.
For the last two years, the DP has made over 20 trips to the larger Gusii region, which have seen a number of top politicians endorsing his bid.
In the process, a number of politicians have ditched his team, with Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi being in that category.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko will lead the Nyamira team. The first time legislator is preferred by the DP due to the virtue that he served as speaker.
Bernard Mogaka, Jubilee youth leader said: Nyamoko knows the county well. He is also the chair of Gusii Parliamentary caucus. He is our leader in the team."
Others from Nyamira include Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose, West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi and a host of MCAs from the county.
Jubilee Youth Leader and nominated MCA George Mosiori is the team leader of youths. "I am determined to deliver for the DP. He's a formidable candidate," he said.
From Kisii, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi is the team leader. Serving his second term, Maangi is expected to launch a bid to succeed Governor James Ongwae.
South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro is also among those rated highly by the DP due to eloquence in public speaking. He's serving his first time.
Others in the team include Alfa Miruka of Bomachoge Chache and Ezekiel Machogu of Nyaribari Masaba. The team has been traversing the region.
