Kenyans on social media have caused all manner of light jokes after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino posted his photo on his official Facebook page donning a green boxing belt.
Babu who attended a boxing contest between Kenya's Fatuma Zarika and Mexican Yoatzin Meraz at Nairobi's Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) posted the photo posing in front of the Kenya flag with a clenched fist sign before Kenyans questioned where he got the belt from well knowing that he is not a boxer.
The belt resembles the one that Zarika won after defeating Meraz.
Reactions;
George Omondi on a light note 'hit out' at the lawmaker saying: "Babu, in this world of 21st Century, you cannot steal someone's championship belt and pose with. That is a sports offence."
David Gachoka said: "We all remember the boxing match between Jaguar (Starehe MP) and Babu. Jaguar won and Babu stole the belt."
Og Francis posted: "That is women's belt bwana."
"God, fight for us in Parliament, stop going for nonsense like that," Kennedy Kipkoech said.
"Can I have a friendly match?" said Erick Otieno Owuor in his contribution to the post.
But one of his followers, Mike Vale, praised the controversial MP: "You will hold a similar belt in the next 5+ years in leadership in God's name, because you are the champion of the youth."
