Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has broken his silence on the alleged plot to eliminate Deputy President William Ruto before 2022.
Kiunjuri, who spoke to journalists after distributing 20,000 hybrid cashew nut seedlings to farmers in Bwiti, Kwale County, said that he is not part of the alleged scheme that wants to end the life of the second in command.
The CS, who is positioning himself to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, said that he is not aware of the details of the meetings at Hotel La Mada.
Kiunjuri insisted that he has no information pertaining what his colleagues James Macharia (Transport), Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and Joe Mucheru (ICT) discussed.
He claimed that he has not been in Nairobi in the recent past, adding that he is not informed about what has been transpiring.
He also said that he is committed to delivering his duties after appointment by President Kenyatta. He further said that he has not been fighting Ruto since he was given the position in government.
"I was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy [William] Ruto to serve all Kenyans. That is why I'm here today, accompanied by Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya," he said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The CSs have since denied the murder claims leveled against them.
They believe that the claims are politically driven.
