Cherangany residents have endorsed ANC Deputy Party leader Kipruto Arap Kirwa in the upcoming 2022 general elections, former Kakamega MP Boni Khalwale has said.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service cum funds drive at Chepsiro African Inland Church in Cherang'any, Trans Nzoia County, Khalwale noted that the congregation, as well as a section of politicians from the region, had unanimously endorsed the former MP to replace the current MP Joshua Kutuny in 2022.
"With Kipchumba Murkomen and a host of senators, women representatives, MPs and MCAs for a church service cum funds drive at Chepsiro African Inland Church in Cherang'any, Trans Nzoia County. The huge congregation asked Hon Kipruto Arap Kirwa to replace Hon Kutuny as the MP," read part of Khalwale's Facebook post.
Khalwales announcement comes as MP Kutuny continues with his scathing attacks on Deputy President William Ruto over the 2022 succession debate.
Kipruto Arap Kirwa, who is the former MP for Cherengany served the constituency for close to two decades.
Other politicians allied to the DP who attended the event include Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.
