Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has left tongue wagging after he revealed plans to set up and stray dog market. The county boss took to social media to highlight the problem of stray dogs in the City.
He claimed that soon, a market for the dog meat could be established in the country as the fight to tame the dogs continues. The revelations did not augur well with users on social media who came forth with their guns blazing.
"Soko ya Mbwa coming soon to Nairobi. We are in the process of identifying a market for stray dogs in Nairobi where we shall be recruiting and bringing together all the dog eating nationalities and open for them a koroga club where they'll be buying slaughtered stray dogs ready for cooking or eating," he said in a short message on his timeline on Tuesday.
The governor has been lamenting over the issues of stray dogs in the city. The dogs have been attacking and injuries innocent taxpayers in different parts of the city. There are cases where dogs have terrorized children.
The menace of the dogs has caused fear among residents of different parts of Nairobi. The county boss is considering the best way to handle these dogs once and for all.
