Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga were among the top dignitaries who graced former Garissa Governor Nathif Jama’s son wedding in Nairobi on Saturday.
Kalonzo led other dignitaries at the colourful wedding ceremony between Khalid Nathif Jama and Nasra Sheikh Mohammed.
Jama is Kalonzo’s close ally and Wiper point-man in North Eastern region.
In 2017 general election, Jama was NASA's point man in North Eastern and managed to win some votes for the opposition outfit.
The former governor won the Garissa top seat in 2013 on Wiper ticket.
Despite being elbowed out of office in the 2017 general election, pundits argue that Jama can still make it back in 2022.
The soft-spoken politician is said to have a massive following and was kicked out of office as a result of clan politics.
“He was one of the performing governors but the clan politics in Garissa made him lose in 2017,” political pundit Peter Ngure observes.
Jama has been quoted saying that he has not given up on politics and that he will make a comeback.
The former Wiper governor can successfully fight his way back to politics in 2022 owing to the fact the current governor, Ali Korane, is embroiled in controversies that could reduce his re-election chances in 2022.
