Speaking when he hosted Deputy President William Ruto in the county on Saturday, the county chief said that he feels as if he is walking through fire.

In a veiled reference to his suspended case regarding the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, Obado said that he feels as if he has been thrown into a crocodile's mouth.

“If you pray for me, I will get out of the crocodile’s mouth,” he is quoted by the Daily Nation on Sunday.

Obado was on September 21 arrested and charged with participating in the murder of Sharon who was his girlfriend.

This followed Sharon's abduction outside Graca Hotel in Rongo, Migori County.

The second-year Medical Records student was later found lifeless in a thicket near Oyugis town, Homabay County, on September 3.

Obado who denied the charges was remanded for 34 days before being released on a Sh 5 million bail 34 days later by High Court Judge Justice Jessie Lesiit.

The case is set to be heard again early next year, with the Governor currently barred from setting foot into Homabay County where Sharon's family lives.

He is also to stay at a radius of 20 kilometres from Homa Bay, as one of his bail conditions.
