Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba has noted that security across the county has been heightened ahead of Deputy President William Ruto's tour.
The commissioner said police officers are on high alert to curb any cases of unnecessary chaos that may occur.
"We have enough security officers deployed across the county to ensure safety of everyone as DP Ruto will be in West Mugirango and Borabu constituencies. Anyone planning to cause chaos is advised to remain in his or her house since police officers will not condone any acts of violence," he stated.
The county security boss appealed to residents in the two constituencies to embrace peace and turn up in large numbers to welcome the DP.
He warned local political leaders against inciting residents to cause disturbances, adding that anyone found culpable will not be spared.
"Local politicians should not in any way incite people to heckle leaders attending the functions which DP Ruto will be presiding over. Anyone who will be arrested will carry his or her own cross," he stated.
Mariba noted that DP Ruto is expected to land in Nyaigesa at 9am today (Friday) where he will be laying a foundation stone for the West Mugirango Technical Training Institute.
