On Tuesday, through Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Ruto escalated the narrative of 'Washenzi' remarks made by Uhuru thus causing anxiety at State House.

A source familiar with Ruto's operations says the DP's team used the remarks to it's advantage thus causing anxiety at State House.

"We know that Washenzi remarks were directed to some of the leaders allied to Ruto from Mt Kenya. But remember this is politics and we have to use every opportunity.

"We had to make it sound as if he was referring to the electorates and some how, we managed. You can see Press Conferences with people who have been instructed by State House," he claimed.

Former Kiambu Governor William Ruto hinted that the press conferences in defense of President Uhuru Kenyatta were responses from State House.

He said: "We all know he meant those politicians from Mt Kenya but the other side changed the narrative to make it sound as if he meant electorates. Those conferences do not just happen by coincidence."

Former Mt Kenya leaders led by Peter Kenneth and Martha Karua castigated team Ruto before a team of women leaders under Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru held another media briefing on Thursday to condemn Ruto's team for early campaigns.
