Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has called upon Kenyans to embrace ethnic equality, noting that all the communities making up the country are equal.
He on Sunday lauded the nation as one big community divided into ethnic groups, adding that they have every reason to coexist in peace and harmony.
The former National Assembly Deputy Speaker vowed to help in upholding unity and diversity in the country, expressing his readiness to lose his life while protecting his belief.
"Kikuyus, Somalis, Luhyas, Kalenjins, Maasais, Luos, Mijikenda, Borans, all 44 tribes were put together in a Corporation called Kenya as equals. Everybody has his share capital in ancestral lands. I love my Kenya and shall fight unto death to protect our unity, diversity and equality. Warned!!" he tweeted.
The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) Deputy Party Leader also stressed on the need for Kenyans to embrace each other, calling for respect among the communities.
He observed that erosion of peace and unity would result in negative effects for the entire country.
"It is one thing to pick up a fight with Somalia and quite another to try and joke with the rights Kenyan Somalis. Kenya is a construct of the British. We were all lumped together as Kenya. Nobody is more equal. Let's protect our Kenya and diversity otherwise, we shall all go to hell," he added.
His attempts to make a comeback in the 2017 polls were thwarted after his defeat to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale in the Garissa Township parliamentary race.
