Mr. Musyoka, has been a stranger in government since leaving office in 2013 and has unsuccessfully deputised Raila Odinga in two presidential elections.

On his Twitter account, President Uhuru Kenyatta termed the tour by Kalonzo and a section of Western Kenya leaders led by Moses Wetangula and former Vice President Moody Awori as 'development oriented'.

"Today I was humbled and honored by Western leaders and Wiper Party members for joining me in the development agenda for Kenyans and putting aside political differences."

In 2013, months after losing elections to Uhuru, Kalonzo and Raila visited State House for friendly talks.

And just after months Raila buried hatchet with Uhuru, Kalonzo has been a supporter of the duo with his latest mutual partnership with government coming when he accompanied Uhuru to China.

At an interview in Citizen TV, Kalonzo insisted that while he is in opposition, he won't hesitate to offer advice to government whenever it's convenient.

"Yes I went to China and there is nothing bad. Sometimes we can offer solutions," he stated.

At inception of handshake, Kalonzo was non committal before meeting Mr. Odinga for explanation.

The two have not only developed a mutual partnership with government but also worked closely to foster unity across the country.
