Panic has engulfed residents of Arabia in Mandera County after armed battalion of KDF officers and regular police descended on the village.
This follows the Wednesday morning incident where two teachers were shot dead by alleged Al Shabaab militia who also razed down several buildings in Arabia High school.
The locals now fear that the armed security men might victimise them in an incident that residents living within the school neighbourhoods have been blamed for giving information to the alleged militias and even harbouring them in their houses.
Just after the chilling incident, the area deputy governor Hon Mohamed Ahmed Arai visited the learning institution and urged locals to report any suspicious individuals to state security agencies to avert any impending attack.
"Security is a joint initiative. I urge you to volunteer any intelligence report to our police officers. Losing innocent lives in such attacks will only end if we work with our security agencies," stated Ahmed.
Just a week ago, locals from Kutulo in Mandera county faulted military operation to flush out militias in their midst saying the officers involved in the operation were violating human rights.
