Wilfred Kipkemei Maiyo was arrested on Wednesday at Kahawa West AP post.

ATPU detectives claim that the AP Inspector has been sharing police operations and information with Alai.

According to ATPU, photos of dead officers in last week's Improvised Electronic Device (IED)  attack at Konton in Wajir were found in Maiyo's phone.

The suspect's mobile phone has been handed to the government laboratories for forensic examination and retrieval of more information.

Detectives are also scrutinizing the suspect's social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter.

Maiyo is the third suspect to be arrested in connection to sharing information relating to the attack.

Detectives are expected to present the officer in court on Thursday and plan to have him charged alongside Alai and prison warder Patrick Safari.

Alai and Safari were arraigned before a Nairobi court on Wednesday and detained for 14 days to allow ATPU conclude investigations.

The three are facing a charge of disclosing information in relation to terrorism activities contrary to section 19(a) of the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2012.

Prior to their arrest, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC)  and the National Police Service (NPS) had warned against sharing of terror-related activities.
