Malindi MP Aisha Juma is set to know her fate following a decision by National Executive Council which affirmed the earlier ruling by disciplinary committee which had recommended her expulsion.
The vocal MP, who has been rallying behind DP William Ruto's candidature, has often defended her actions saying she is compelled to do so by the spirit of the handshake.
ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire says not even party leader Raila Odinga will determine Ms Jumwa's fate, adding that the National Governing Council will make the final decision on March 1st.
"This is a process and our party is democratic. We make decisions based on facts but one has an opportunity to defend herself all the time," he said in a phone interview.
The former Kitutu Masaba MP added: "The National Governing Council will make the final decision next Thursday on Jumwa's case. Do not be worried at all. Whatever they decide will be adhered to."
Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori along with six Homa Bay MCAs were found guilty of breaching party rules and subsequently recommended for expulsion.
In the NGC sits all members of NEC, ODM League, Youth League, Women League, all governors and Majority Leaders.
The ODM party is struggling to stamp its authority with a section of her members joining DP William Ruto's camp contrary to party regulations.
