Former Starehe MP aspirant Boniface Mwangi has finally broken his silence over the increasing love relationships between young people especially girls and old men popularly known as sponsors.
Mwangi in a long Facebook post on Thursday said that he is a devoted Christian and will never judge girls who fall in love with people as old as their fathers.
Girls especially from humble backgrounds, Kibera inclusive, are today fond of falling in love with men as old as their dads to exchange material things with sex.
"Young people, but especially women, are having sex with older men and women, commonly referred to as sponsors. My personal values and faith don’t support this, but my Saviour says I shouldn’t judge them," the human right activist-cum politician said.
"Actually, the Bible commands that I should love them. Before God, our sins are equal but in Kenya, women’s sins are an abomination to men. Kenya isn’t broke, or corrupt, because of women’s sexual choices; it is corrupt because we elect thieves."
Mwangi who lost the MP race to Jubilee's Charles Kanyi (Jaguar) said Kenyans especially men should desist from viewing women as sex objects only to be 'used' and dumped after sexual encounter(s).
He said women, just as men, have rights which should be respected.
"Kenya has little respect for its women. We, men, have been taught (or taught ourselves) to treat women in a contemptuous and disrespectful manner," he posted.
