Renowned news anchor Betty Kyalo could not contain her emotions Friday as her checkered stint at KTN came to an end.

Tears cascaded down her cheeks as she thanked her fans for standing with her.

"It's time for me to say goodbye. It's not easy as you can see. Thank you so much. It's been a pleasure being on this station. I am happy to go and see uncharted waters. I will miss you guys for sure. I want to thank everyone who has made this happen. You guys have been amazing," she said tearfully.

Betty joined the Standard Media Group as an intern, excelling to become an anchor.

Though not directly speaking about her next move, rumours indicate that she's headed to K24 owned by parent company Media Max.

Kyalo's was the latest in a mind-spinning series of career moves by Kenyan journalists.

At KTN, Betty hosted the Friday Briefing show which proved to be a lock for ratings.
