Currently, virtually all Gusii leaders support Dr Ruto a part from Kisii Woman Rep Janet Ong'era, Senators Okong'o Mogeni and Sam Ongeri along with Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.

In an interview on Wednesday, ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire accused Ruto of glorifying corruption, adding that the country's second in command should be investigated.

"He has openly said that corruption doesn't hinder development. This explains why he diverted money meant for Magwagwa Multipurpose dam to Kimwarer and Arror to steal.

"This guy is an irredeemable thief. He has brain washed Gusii MPs with handouts and non of them seems to see a danger in him. These MPs should be kicked out for betraying the community," said the former Kitutu Masaba MP.

But in a rejoinder, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro said their decision to support Ruto is based on his development record, adding that ODM os scared of losing Gusii region to Ruto.

"They have always said that. We shall not be intimidated. When we support Ruto, they say we are paid, when we support Raila, they keen quiet... Let these guys be honest," he said in an interview with K24 TV recently.

For the past one year, Ruto has made 20 joint tours to Kisii and Nyamira Counties. The region overwhelmingly voted for Mr Raila Odinga in the last three elections.
