When it comes to relationships, some parents act in favour of their child, and sometimes it may seem they are competing with the other partner.

To prevent this from happening, here are some ways your parent could be the cause of your relationship ending:

1. They are too intrusive

When your parents spend most of their time with you or even invite themselves into your home, this might not end well.

This may affect your limited time of spending with your partner and hence creating a blank space in between, leading to a breakup.

2. They treat you like a baby

Your parents order you around and constantly supervise you.

It’s not bad helping your parents out, but to some point, they may turn out to be too much and this may cause problems in your relationship.

3. They critique your lifestyle

This might occur when you decide to move to a place far from where they live.

They constantly criticise every decision you make, and this could lead to friction in your relationship.

4. They don’t want to share

Before getting into a serious relationship, your parents were used to having you for themselves, and this might not be the case when in a relationship.

As a result, your parents may decide not to accept the idea that they will be now sharing you with someone else, and this might lead to a bad ending.
