Gikaria is accused of engaging in fraud contrary to section 317 of the penal code.

He was arrested on Monday by DCI officers in Nakuru, grilled and his booking photos splashed online.

A section of Kenyans expressed confidence with the office of DCI saying it was the 'end of the untouchables'.

His supporters, however, feel it was wrong for the DCI to 'shame' mheshimiwa.

The Jubilee legislator  was arrested on Monday where he was taken to Nakuru DCI for questioning.

He was later charged with seven counts of land grabbing. He pleaded not guilty and was released on personal bond of Sh3 million and  a surety of the same amount.

Nakuru DCI Gideon Kibunjia said that the 0.5 acres land had been grabbed by the legislator.

His parading comes a month after Nairobi court issued orders  restraining the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Inspector General of police from posting photos of suspects on social media.

This is after lawyer Dennis Kirwa obtained the orders on  December last year, arguing the practice if not stopped may negate the presumption of innocence which states everyone charged presumed innocent until proved guilty.
