As 2022 election politics continue to take a shape in Uasin Gishu County and the whole country, one thing is very clear; Jackson Mandago who is the current governor will not be contesting for the gubernatorial seat since he will have served for ten years.
Constitutional restrictions will not allow him to vie for another term.
For this reason, Mandago will have to choose between exiting politics and remaining in the political field by contesting for any other seat apart from his current position.
The vocal county boss is a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto who will be vying for the presidential seat and this means that Mandago may not even be thinking to contest for the country’s top seat. However, he is free to contest for Member of Parliament (MP), Senator or Member of County Assembly (MCA) position.
If he will opt to remain in politics, Mandago's best option is to vie for the Uasin Gishu senatorial seat.
Considering his good performance as a governor, Mandago is in the hearts of Uasin Gishu residents and he will easily win the senatorial race which up to now has not received any serious candidacy apart from Prof. Margaret Kamar who is wide;y expected to seek reelection.
