Police in Nairobi have arrested an officer attached to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) over kidnapping claims.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Kahawa Barracks officer Mohamed Sharmake Abdi was nabbed after holding hostage citizens in a car and demanding ransom.
He was arrested alongside Abdikalif Noor, Salah Abdi, and Ahmed Abdullahi.
Police reports indicate that the four had abducted civilians in a car and were demanding Sh5000 from each to release them.
The DCI has confirmed the arrest.
