In a short statement, minutes after the two met on Saturday in Nairobi, Don Bosco showered Mr Odinga with praises on social media.

"His RT Hon Raila Amollo. You relentlessly fought for my release. Several times you spoke to Magufuli until you came up with the Idea that set me up free.

"You personally contributed also for the fine money and you simply asked how much was the balance? My political mentor RAO."https://www.facebook.com/1673492782888202/posts/2213890935515048/.

In 2013, Don Bosco was arrested in Tanzania and subsequently detained at Arusha for five years until his release on September 2018.

Throughout his stay in prison, Raila Odinga reportedly negotiated for his release, with Bosco hinting that Mr Odinga came up with the idea of pleading guilty for lesser sentence.

And for record, Mr Odinga is said to have contributed Sh3 million for Don Bosco's release as part of the Sh15 million fine. Since his release, Bosco has met a couple of leaders among them DP William Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka.

While it's not clear which seat he intends to run for, Don Bosco is keen to form partnership with either Raila or Ruto ahead of 2022 polls.
