A drunk man was undressed and forced to walk naked in public after he failed to pay Sh70 he bought illicit liquor 'chang'aa'.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Ibanchore village in Nyaribari Masaba, Kisii County.
Area assistant chief Josephat Nyakundi confirmed the incident and said Edwin Ombaso was undressed by Josephine Mbaka after he failed to pay for liquor he drunk.
"Josephine has been secretly making and selling chang'aa in the area. Her forty days reached when she undressed Ombaso just because he failed to settle Sh70 debt," said Nyakundi.
The chief noted he stormed the woman's homestead accompanied by community policing officials and arrested the woman together with locals who were at the chang'aa den.
"We arrested the illicit liquor seller woman and four locals including Ombaso before we surrendered them to Masimba police station for court processing," he said.
The chief warned locals against making, distributing and selling illicit brew liquor adding that the government has not legalized the sell of illicit brews.
He assured that the war on illicit brews is ongoing in the area.
