Veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga Friday weighed in on the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno during a campaign for ODM's senatorial candidate Ochillo Ayacko in Migori.
Speaking to a mammoth crowd that had turned up to hear him speak, Raila voiced his condemnation for the killing that shocked the conscience of the Kenyan public, saying that those behind it were guilty before the law and before God.
"Those who are responsible for the killing of the young girl Sharon wherever they are, they are guilty before the law and before the Lord God of Israel," Raila told a charged crowd.
His remarks come amid investigations into the murder and the incarceration of Migori County's Governor Okoth Obado.
Obado has strenuously denied any involvement in the death of the Rongo University student who was pregnant for him.
Sharon's lifeless body was discovered in Kodera Forest disemboweled.
Investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have linked the Migori governor to the death.
