There was drama on Thursday evening at Nyangoso market when a woman caught her husband with another woman in a lodging.
Elmelda Osebe said she had been suspecting her husband Robert Onditi was having illicit affairs with other women.
“Onditi married me seven years ago and we have been blessed with two sons. I have been suspecting him of having affairs with other women and decided to lay a trap for him,” she said.
Mrs Osebe said she was at the market where she sells tomatoes when she spotted her husband entering a lodging with a woman.
“I lied to him that I would not be at the market and he decided to take advantage of my absence from the market to take the woman to the lodging. I followed him and saw him entering the lodging with Janet Sarange,” she said.
Osebe said she raided the room where she found the two having sex.
She said she attacked Sarange after her husband fled from the scene and abandoned her.
Confirming the incident, area chief Joseph Nyamira said Osebe attacked Sarange and broke her right hand.
"The number of cases of married men engaging in illicit affairs has gone up in the recent past. Sarange's right hand was broken after she was caught having sex with Onditi in the lodging,” he said.
Mr Nyamira said that upon questioning Sarange, she revealed that Onditi told her he was not married and wanted to make her his wife.
Sarange was taken to the Nyamache Sub-County hospital for treatment.
