Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka insists that Abagusii community have a stable leadership, adding that there is no vacuum.
The community has been walking in a tight path since the exit of Simion Nyachae from active politics in 2007. Nyachae had contested for presidency in 2002 and emerged third.
At at interview with Egesa FM on Wednesday, Onyonka, who is serving his third term, said the community should speak in one voice ahead of 2022.
He said Governors John Nyagarama and James Ongwae along with Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i should give the community a direction.
"You can't say that we don't have kingpins. We have Nyagarama, Ongwae and Matiang'i. Let them give us a direction as a community," he said.
Mr Onyonka said the Abagusii people should first come together and form a strong base which will be used to bargain for power with other communities.
"We can go for the top seat. Even if we can't, we can talk with other communities for support. We can't have a strong bargaining power without coming together."
His calls comes barely a week after he led a section of the leaders from Nyamira and Kisii in endorsing Dr Fred Matiang'i for presidency.
Last year, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati installed himself as the Abagusii community spokesman, a move that caused uproar from among senior leaders.
