Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has said he is ready to lose his seat if that is what it will cost by supporting Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 bid.
The vocal MP said he witnessed a pact between Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto in 2013 where they agreed that the Mt Kenya voters and those from the Rift Valley will work together for 20 years.
“Our President and our Deputy President came here and we merged TNA and URP, Uhuru said we support him for ten years and then support Ruto for 10 years. I will stick to that because I am a Christian and do not lie,” Ngunjiri said.
The MP was speaking during a church function in London ward where he was hosted by MP Samual Arama.
He also told off a section of leaders from Central Kenya who are reportedly plotting to sabotage Ruto in his bid for State House.
“Some leaders from Central Kenya are the ones who want to create trouble for us. They want the Kikuyus to be painted betrayers, I want to tell them we will not allow that. Even if it means losing my seat as MP, let it be but we must be honest and live according to our words,” he said.
