Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Monday revisited his wrangles with former Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa.
The current Devolution Principal Secretary had a rough time dealing with coastal security issues and the ODM deputy party leader Joho.
“If you were to watch TV or listen to the radio and my opponents, you could know that Hassan Joho was going to be floored. People were very loud with press conferences. When Marwa talked, you could believe Joho is going to lose the gubernatorial race tomorrow,” Joho stated.
However, Joho revealed that his opponents forgot to involve the majority of people who usually do not get a chance to speak giving him an opportunity to win.
He revealed that all is well between him and Marwa but encouraged leaders to be consulting the silent population before making decisions.
He was speaking at the Mombasa Youth Convention and Global Migration Film Festival at Aga Khan Academy Hall on Monday 10.
“What they did not do was to remember that there is a silent population that has an immense contribution in whatever decision a city takes. If you make these people to start speaking, things do change. They were talking about certain people and D-. I only wished that their loudness and strength was directed to the wellbeing of society,” he said.
