DP Ruto held an interview with Kameme FM on Thursday at his Karen residence.

Wambugu seemed to have been irked by Ruto's response when asked about his source of wealth which he termed as an answer from a man "full of himself".

"Nani ashapoteza pesa yake akaipata kwa account yangu? (Who has ever lost his/her money and found it in my account?)," the legislator quoted DP Ruto response on his Facebook page.

The first time MP argued that the DP was ridiculing poor Kenyans for being incapable of doing anything about his wealth.

"This is such an arrogant statement. It’s right up there with ‘mta do?’," read part of the post.

He echoed a person known as Claire Mokeira, who likened Ruto's situation to a church offering thief who defends himself by saying that he had not stolen anybody's money.

"As # ClaireMokeira says, it’s like‘... someone who stole church offering & when he was asked before a church committee, he asked whose money was missing. Very arrogant and proud’," observed Wambugu.

The Nyeri Town MP opined that DP Ruto's statement may be used by cornered thieves in future as a statement of defence from prosecution.

"And it’s just the kind of statement anyone else suspected of stealing public funds will now be happy to use ... moving forward," noted the MP.
