A Catholic priest from Gusii region has broken silence following the Dusit hotel last week that claimed 21 lives.
Father Lawrence Nyaanga condemned the attack by Al-Shabaab reiterating that police officers should conduct a security crackdown to flush out criminals living with people in society.
"As a country we will not continue losing our people due to terror attacks. Police officers should work around the clock to keep off terrorists," he said.
Nyaanga, who doubles as the Kisii University Chaplain, maintained that Kenyans deserve to live in peace, unity and harmony.
He urged Kenyans to volunteer information to security agencies to enable police to arrest criminals.
"People should not keep quiet when they notice unusual behaviors more especially among the youths who are joining gang groups such as Al Shabaab.
"As Kenyans we need to be more vigilant and report any criminal to authorities for legal action to be taken in time to curb attacks," he added.
The vocal priest challenged youths from Gusii region to venture into self-employment so that they don't become idle to be lured to join gang groups like Al-Shabaab.
