While addressing the press after meeting Kalenjin elders on Monday, Raila said he is in good terms with Orengo.

The senator has continued to face fierce criticisms after he brought forth a plan to remove Ruto, who has declared his interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, from office.

Raila, who has not been in good books with Ruto, said that Orengo is one of the most loyal members of the ODM Party.

“Orengo is a very loyal member of ODM. There’s nothing, only positive issues about Hon. James Orengo,” he said, as quoted by Citizen.

The senator has said that he will oversee the removal of the second in command on the grounds of misconduct.

The senate minority leader has claimed that the DP has proven beyond doubt that he is incompetent to hold office.

He noted that  Ruto has been mentioned in various scandals involving the loss of billions belonging to the taxpayers.

Orengo wants him replaced with a competent leader with good will. Ruto has rubbished the motion to send him packing.
