Charles Kanyi alias Jaguar is the Starehe MP serving his first term in office.
The popular and flamboyant musician won the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket in the 2017 general election.
He enjoys massive political support in Nairobi Eastlands and slum areas like Kibera.

1. He was born in a family of three siblings.
2. He grew up in in Nairobi’s Eastlands area where he attended school.
3. The MP lost his mother at the age of 11 who by then was the only guardian.
4. Jaguar was forced to enroll into informal employment doing menial jobs to fend for his siblings.
5. He worked as a tout in one of the Nairobi matatus to raise money for his school fees.
6. In 2004 he recorded and released his first single ‘Utaweza Kweli’.
7. In 2005, Jaguar joined Ogopa Power House and released top singles and videos that propelled him to fame.
8. Jaguar is married and has two daughters.
