Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta not to give up in the war against graft before he leaves office.
Kalonzo, who has hinted at contesting for the nation’s top seat, said Kenya has not developed because of massive corruption.
He called up Kenyans to stand with Uhuru, who is seeking to leave behind a legacy before his retirement.
He spoke in the presence of Deputy President William Ruto and his Amani National Congress counterpart Musalia Mudavadi during the launch of the Lenten campaign at Our Lady of Consolata in Nyeri town.
“If we win this war against corruption, this country will not be the same again. If someone is a thief, we have no other name for it,” he said.
He also warned leaders against fighting Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti. He further said that the media has been playing a crucial role in exposing corrupt deals.
He urged Kenyans to support media houses to ensure that the President achieves the Big Four Agenda.
In the meantime, Uhuru has insisted that he will not tolerate corrupt cabinet secretaries in his team. He has warned CSs who will not comply with his directive. This comes after he fired Sports CS Rashid Echesa in a mini-reshuffle.
