Here are some of the foods that should not be stored in a fridge;

1. Potatoes

When stored in cold temperature, the starch is broken down to simple sugars that will make them unnecessarily sweet and gritty. The taste will be unpleasant for the consumers.

2. Water melons

Whole water melons should be stored at room temperature in order to keep the anti-oxidants more intact than when refrigerated. Once they are cut, then they can be stored for 3 to 4 days in a fridge.

3. Honey

Due its high sugar content, honey can crystallize at chilly temperatures making it undesirable for you. Honey should be stored at room temperature, after all, its high sugar content is a storage property already.

4. Tomatoes

Storing tomatoes in cold temperature makes them dull and watery. The best place is to store them on a shelf or the counter.

5. Coffee

It should be stored in an air tight container whether whole or grounded. Humidity in the refrigerator cause building of water that would make the coffee lose its desirable flavor.

6. Onions and garlic

When stored in a fridge, they become moldy and mushy due to humidity. Once they are cut store them in a resalable bag away from direct sunlight.

7. Bread

Refrigeration can make the bread very dry and undesirable. Breads should be stored on a counter.
