The legislators want the two politicians to shelve their differences and work together.

Speaking separately, Mwala MP Vincent Musau and his Yatta counterpart Charles Kilonzo called on Mutua to reach out to Ndeti for development.

The duo said Machakos leaders must shelve their differences for the sake of development.

"Governor Mutua and Wavinya Ndeti must put their political differences aside and work in unity for the sake of development," Musau said.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap MP who spoke in Mwala Town on Monday said the Supreme Court ruling that upheld Mutua's victory should put an end to the political rivalry between the Governor Mutua and Ndeti.

"We must work together as leaders whether in the office or not for the sake of development of our people," he added.

On his part, Yatta MP Charles kilonzo blamed disunity for poor development in Machakos.

Kilonzo said the county will not register development if its leaders remain disunited.

"Governor Mutua should reconcile Machakos leaders and spearhead the county's development agenda now that the Supreme Court has validated his victory," Kilonzo said.

He addressed the press in Yatta Town on Tuesday.

Kilonzo said disunity among elected leaders is painting Machakos county negatively.

A section of Machakos politicians continues to pile pressure on Mutua to work with Ndeti.

Last week, Mutua extended an olive branch to Ndeti after the Supreme Court upheld his victory.

Mutua said he is ready to work with Ndeti and other leaders for the sake of development.

Ndeti has, however, ruled out working with the governor.

The former Kathiani MP maintains that Mutua was not validly elected in the August 8, 2017, general election.

She claims that Mutua is forcing himself on Machakos people.
