Over five MPs among the Brighton Yegon (Konoin), Gideon Koskei (Chepalungu), Beatrice Kones (Bomet East), Joyce Korir (Woman Representative) and Alice Milgo (Nominated Senator) walked out of Uhuru's function over claims that they were denied an opportunity to speak in Bomet.

ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale now claims that the DP, who also attended the event, could have participated in planning of the protest to 'blackmail' Uhuru so that he could declare support for him.

"This thing was stage-managed. He (Ruto) now wants to blackmail the president just because of 2022. These kind of politics must end," he said.

Joyce Korir, the area Women Rep said that organisers of the three functions in Bomet had blocked them knowingly to prevent them from raising controversial Mau Forest evictions.

But on Tuesday, Governor Joyce Laboso insisted that the president's programme was tight thus the decision to minimise presentations by leaders.

However, the county boss seemed to vindicate herself, adding that State House is responsible for programme management.

"Yes we have issues about slow construction of the university and Mau Forest issues. These can be handled in a structured meeting not public forums.

"The president had a tight schedule and not all of us could speak. He was in Sotik, Bomet University and then LREB expo thus limited time," she argued.

Sources reveal that State House was concerned over increasing politics in Presidential function with the Kapsabet event where Uhuru was urged to back Ruto informing decision to give local leaders blackout.

After the unprecedented walkout, the MPs stages parallel rally in Bomet town in the presence of the president where they condemned organisers of 'discrimination'.
