President Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again reaffirmed his commitment in the fight against corruption, arguing that despite politics surrounding it, he will emerge victorious.
During a State House function on Friday, Uhuru said he will not relent on the war, adding that it might be noisy and messy but he is focused to deliver his promises.
"On the fight against corruption, I am focused. I know there could be a lot of politics about it, but I want to assure you that it will be noisy and messy. We just have to win," he said.
While Uhuru has often maintained that his fight against corruption is unstoppable, his deputy William Ruto says the war is based on a witch-hunt to curtail his 2022 presidential ambitions.
Uhuru was backed by the European Union. He said he's keen to restore integrity in both public and private sectors through a vicious war on corruption.
"The President said he will continue spearheading the war on corruption and welcomed the support of the EU in the struggle adding that his determination to restore integrity in the country will never be derailed," State House said.
During his State of the Nation address, Uhuru however, said that the fight against corruption will be strictly anchored in the rule of law.
