Last year, rapper and spoken artist King Kaka did a hit 'Wajinga Nyinyi' which has turned out to be positive, for it has made many Kenyans reflect on the country's poor governance.

This music with a sense that brings together the masses giving them the vibe of understanding whats going on in the society.

The track has had many poets and spoken word artists do their own on the same.

This implies that Poetry and spoken word music is an art that is lagging behind since many Kenyans and people across the world have placed it at the backs of their minds never to think about it.

Spoken word music is poetry that is meant to be performed not to be written and aimed to touch the lives of many, it entails words with flow, rhyme and rhythm

Other major artists that will never be forgotten for their music that was aimed to touch lives is Eric Wainaina with his track 'Inchi ya kitu kidogo', Juliani, Sauti Sol and Nyashiki with their track 'tujiangalie', and many others.

Music doesn't really need to win awards but its aimed to touch lives.

From recent research, it was proven that music that is aimed to touch is never forgotten that's why most Kenyans need to recognize poetry and spoken word music which has had a positive view through slam poetry and many events.

The government should also try and recognize this kind of music and award it.
