Julius Waithaka Mwangi 56, was admitted at Nyayo ward 11, bed number 35 on Wednesday last week after he collapsed while at his workplace in Langalanga estate.

Waithaka is a mechanic at Gabriel Mwangi motor vehicles garage.

According to a colleague, Peter Kimani, he was suffering from blood pressure.

“Waithaka collapsed on Wednesday afternoon due to blood pressure and immediately we rushed him to Nakuru Level 5 hospital where he was placed in a machine upon admission," Kimani said.

Kimani said his friend regained consciousness after two days and he went to visit him on Friday last week.

He, however, learned of his disappearance on Saturday after another visit.

Kimani said after failing to locate his friend, he made a missing person report at Nakuru showground police station under OB number 11/6/8/2018.

Contacted on phone, the hospital medical superintendent in charge of the hospital Dr. Joseph Mburu said that he was not aware of the case and needed some time to confirm about it.

Entrance or exit at the Nakuru Level 5 hospital happens after one undergoes a thorough security check. Visitors are always stamped and patients must be cleared from the wards before being allowed to leave the facility.

This is done through verification of discharge summary sheet for all patients leaving the hospital.

Waithaka, who hails from Gatundu in Kiambu County, has reportedly been living alone in Nakuru for the last 20 years.
