The Turkana Community living in Nakuru has raised concerns over the manner in which the government is handling the issue of insecurity in Turkana County.
Addressing media in Nakuru led by their chairman Paul Lokilindi, the community faulted the government over failure to restore security along the Turkana-Pokot boarder.
Lokilindi said the insecurity, that has been occasioned by cattle rustling between the two communities, has been there for long yet the government has never sought a permanent solution.
“The insecurity that has been occasioned by the cattle rustling between the two communities has been there for long yet the government has never sought a permanent solution,” said Lokilindi.
He adds that families living in Kainuk area are in fears and children no longer go to school.
He said Rongai in Nakuru is affected whenever a conflict between communities in Turkana start.
Last year, Lokilindi said, two students from Barina lost their lives when conflict erupted in Turkana.
They called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to step in and ensure normalcy returns in the county.
