Fourteen pupils of Mpopong Primary School have been hospitalised in Tenwek hospital with minor injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned in Tarakwa on Kaplong-Bomet road.
The cause of the accident has not yet been known. More casualties are yet to be saved as ambulances are on arrival at the scene. So far, no death has been accounted for since the accident occurred before noon.
Area police officers have arrived at the scene to save casualties and find out the real cause of the accident.
The thirty passenger bus has not been removed from the spot where the accident took place.
No teacher or school staff have been injured. Reports only indicate that the 14 pupils have been rushed to hospital with some having minor injuries.
"The injured pupils were rushed to Tenwek Mission Hospital with minor injuries," said Bomet OCPD Samson Rukunga as quoted by the Nation.
Other pupils who also got out of the bus safely have been driven off to the Bomet police station as they await their fellow students to be discharged from the hospital.
