In a sworn affidavit before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Ms Abdalla on Friday, Ms Abdalla was put to task to explain why she declined to disclose the whereabouts of her son.

The accused reportedly kept information that could have assisted the police counter the attack on diverse dates between 2015 and 2019 at Kula Mawe in Isiolo County.

The court was told that she had been informed of the attack but she decided to be secretive before the deadly attack that left more than 20 persons dead.

The court will hear an application of her bail on Friday as the prosecution team seeks to unmask the real terrorists behind the attack.

The prosecution has asked the court not to grant her bail because she is likely to escape from the country before the investigation is over.

It is believed that Abdalla has continued to maintain communication with the suspect, which has interfered with the probe into the terror attack.

Documents showed that the suspect once worked for Mama Sammy where he operated as a cyber café attendant, in Isiolo Town.

Gichunge went missing after 2014 but contacted her in 2016 before she made his way to Mogadishu where he started studying Islamic Education.

“That’s the last she heard of him until this attack happened,” reads part of a document from the court as seen by Daily Nation.
