Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has asked land grabbers targeting school fields in Gusii region to 'kill him so that they can continue with the habit'.
Matiang'i, while speaking at Kereri girls on Monday, said he is committed to ensure the habit comes to an end.
"Public lands must be respected. Cartels planning to grab school lands to set up big house have only one option that is they have to kill me so that they can continue with their dubious dealings," he noted.
He urged school heads to apply for land titles to keep in record and in case cartels forge documents to claim ownership of school land are apprehended easily.
The Cabinet Secretary warned lands officials in Nyamira and Kisii Counties against colluding with cartels to grab public lands.
"My ministry is working closely with the DPP to ensure corrupt dealings are dealt with in accordance to the laws of the land. Government officers who think they will use their position in government to grab public lands must know the law will cut across," he added.
