Teso North has been an ODM dominant region with the ANC making inroads having won the Parliamentary seat in the 2017 general elections.

The youths who conducted an election at Amagoro, Teso North, elected Fredrick Brown Odionyi Epalat as their chairperson an event conducted by ANC National Strategist Shariff Jere, National Treasurer, James Mwenda and ANC National Coordinator.

Others elected were Kennedy Oyaa as vice-chairperson, Mercy Masai as secretary and Joel Imaido as treasurer.

Speaking with this writer on phone, the new chairperson, Fredrick Epalat, said he is focused to vie for the vice-chairpersons position in the county level to be held on Saturday at Busia and he thanked all the youths who turned up for the exercise pledging to work with them at the grassroots level.

"I want to thank the loyal Teso North youths for electing me as the Chair. I have the passion to serve them diligently as the time has come for the youths to claim what is rightfully theirs through aggressive leadership from the National to the county levels," he said.

"I will be vying for the position of the Vice Chair at the County level and I urge for the support from my fellow youths so that we transform the stereotype created for the youths forever in the betterment of our country," he added

He, however, expressed his gratitude to the constituency for having trust in him through a Facebook post.

"Thank You Teso North For Electing Me Chairperson ANC YOUTH LEAGUE. Finally, the voice of the youth shall be heard,

"Tutaandamana asilimia mia Kwa mia. I dedicate this victory to the youths across the Constituency." read his Facebook post.

Political parties have been making efforts to reach the grassroots as the 2022 political temperatures continue taking shape.
