Speaking during an interview at his Karen home in Nairobi on Saturday , Kalonzo said he has a cordial relationship with Kibwana.

This comes after Kibwana and a section of leaders from Ukambani mounted pressure on him to reveal the details of the deal he allegedly signed with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kalonzo said there is room for the leaders within the political outfit to exercise the democracy.

“We will remain engaged as Wiper. I have no problem with my party chairman and I encourage growth of internal party democracy,” Kalonzo said.

Kibwana and some of the leaders from Ukambani feel that Kalonzo has not shown a clear stand ahead of the 2022 presidential race.

The leaders want him to stand seeking for support from different regions as he prepares to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta upon his retirement.

On his part, Kalonzo has said he is committed towards nation building.

Kalonzo said the time for politics will come.

He is seen as one of the leaders with the qualities to succeed Uhuru upon his retirement.

Kalonzo is likely to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto when that time comes.
