Residents of Nyamenengo village in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County are mourning the death of a woman who was hacked to death by her boyfriend on Tuesday night.
Residents said Ann Bosibori has been dating Clinton Oroo for the past 1 year and they were expected to get married formally in November this year.
"Bosibori has been a relationship with Oroo who lives with his grandmother in the village. Oroo busted her with another man on Tuesday at 8 pm while he was returning home from the shop. He chased after the man but in vain and returned for her and hit her with a stone from the back of her head killing her on spot," said Douglas Omete.
Omete said the suspect escaped to an unknown place.
Area chief, Philip Obwoge said the deceased could not survive since she was bleeding internally following the brutal attack.
"Bosibori died due to internal bleeding. The man has gone into hiding but we are hunting him. Her body was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary," he noted.
He warned women against playing men to curb unnecessary beatings and attacks.
The chief urged members of the public to report the suspect to authorities once they spot him in the village.
